Update! Still no new bike! And other bits and bobs

Some of you may have read my earlier post about buying my new bike through my company’s cycle to work scheme. Only problem is the bureaucracy! I filled in the paperwork 4 weeks ago, and was initially told it would take 2 weeks for my voucher to come through and then I can just go and order what I want. Perfect, I thought! Continue reading

Decisions

I have mentioned previously that I own a vintage Raleigh roadbike that I bought from eBay for around £25 last year. I do love it. It’s been great for getting around London, but it’s just too heavy and antiquated to be suitable for long rides. So a new bike I must purchase.

Helpfully, I am able to sign up for the Cycle2Work scheme which will allow me to make some tax and NI savings on a new bike providing I use it for commuting. Dream! Frustratingly my company uses Halford’s scheme exclusively which means I have to go for a bike which they stock (or that they are willing to order in) and they’re hardly bike specialists!
